Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va., part of Falls Church, Va.-based Inova Health System, has broken ground on a $31 million medical office building that will include a new radiation oncology cancer center, according to a Washington Business Journal report.
The 10,000-square foot cancer center will be located on the first floor of the 115,000-square foot office building. In addition to an infusion center and physician offices, the building will include space for Inova's "Life with Cancer" program, which includes classes, support groups and other services for cancer patients and families.
Growing population in the community increased the demand for radiation therapy and other services in the area.
The hospital aims to complete the project by early 2014.
