New York City will sell land to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and City University of New York to build a new cancer care facility and a new university building, according to a Real Estate Weekly report.
The city will sell 66,000-square-feet of land for $215 million. Memorial Sloan-Kettering will pay approximately 70 percent of the cost to build a cancer center that could encompass up to 750,000 square feet. CUNY will pay the remaining cost and its Hunter College will build a Science and Health Professions building of up to 336,000 square feet to upgrade its science and nursing facilities.
Memorial Sloan-Kettering's new facility will provide outpatient treatments, including bone marrow transplantation services, for patients with lung, head, neck and hematological cancers.
