Houston-based Harris Health System — formerly called Harris County Hospital District — will open its new outpatient oncology center Oct. 1, according to a KUHF report.
Smith Clinic includes a radiation oncology department and several diagnostic and specialty clinics currently located at Harris Health System's Ben Taub General Hospital at Texas Medical Center in Houston. The facility houses more than 100 examination rooms, six mammography units, two linear accelerators and 26 infusion therapy stations.
The clinic will serve primarily low-income and uninsured patients, according to the report.
