Community Cancer Center in Normal, Ill., a joint venture of Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal and OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Ill., is planning a $10 million expansion and renovation project, according to a Pantagraph report.
The project would add 35,000 square feet to the center's existing 27,000 square feet. The expansion would include new space for medical oncology, radiation oncology, a conference center, waiting and exam rooms, administrative and support areas and future growth.
Community Cancer Center currently sees approximately 220 patients each day. Executive Director Barb Nathan estimates patient volume will increase 7 percent each year due to an aging population and increased survivor rates, according to the report.
Construction is scheduled to begin this fall. The expansion is expected to take about one year and renovation an additional six to 12 months.
