Marshall Medical Centers in Guntersville and Boaz, Ala., is planning an $8.6 million cancer center, according to a report by The Sand Mountain Reporter.
The 22,000-square-foot facility will include medical and radiation oncology, an infusion center and space for future growth. MMC hopes the center will raise awareness of and expand the hospitals' cancer services. Construction is expected to begin in July with an opening date of July 2013.
MMC has also affiliated with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Cancer Care Network to enhance its cancer services.
