UC Davis Medical Center and Children's Hospital in Sacramento, Calif., has opened its pediatric intensive care unit/pediatric cardiac intensive care unit, according to a hospital news release.
The PICU/PCICU is 25,000-square-feet — twice the size of the former PICU — and can serve one-third more patients. The unit includes 24 beds and the Pediatric Telemedicine Program, which allows UC Davis to extend its services to distant communities.
