Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System's Adventist Hinsdale (Ill.) Hospital and Adventist La Grange (Ill.) Memorial Hospital are planning a $51 million, freestanding oncology center in Hinsdale, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.
The nearly 54,000-square-foot facility would combine the two hospitals' cancer services in a single outpatient location. The center would house 22 private exam rooms, six chemotherapy infusion stations, two linear accelerators for radiation treatment, a pharmacy and a laboratory.
Adventist Health System is in discussions with two private oncology groups currently on staff at its hospitals about staffing the new facility.
If approved by the facilities board, Adventist Health System would begin construction in March and would complete the project in the fall of 2014.
