Rachel Gonzales, DM, RN, RODP, has served as CEO of Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho, since April 2012.
Prior to serving as CEO, Ms. Gonzales served as interim CEO for 10 months. She had also served as the hospital's COO. She has more than 15 years of healthcare experience.
As a hospital leader, Ms. Gonzales has shown passion for providing the highest quality of care for patients and their families. As interim CEO, she helped bring the medical staff together as a cohesive team. "Their effective teamwork has been a catalyst of our growing success," she said in a hospital press release.
For her efforts, Ms. Gonzales received the Medical Professional of the Year award from the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce in 2012. She was also named to Becker's Hospital Review's 2012 list of 120 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.
Ms. Gonzales has also served on many regional and national healthcare boards and taught undergraduate, graduate and doctoral healthcare courses online for the past 11 years.
Despite all of her professional success, Ms. Gonzales is most proud of her three sons, who she calls "the best accomplishments in [her] life."
