The ONC's Chief Privacy Officer and Office of Standards and Interoperability are launching the Data Segmentation Initiative to create standards for the exchange of parts of a medical record, according to an ONC report.
The initiative, under the ONC Standards & Interoperability Framework, is having a "soft launch today." The soft launch includes a public call for participation notice emailed to government and industry stakeholders, a Wiki home page for the initiative and an ONC blog post.
The formal launch is scheduled for Oct. 5 and will include a public webinar and presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.
