The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has launched the Discharge Follow-Up Appointment challenge, according to a Department of Health and Human Services news release.
The challenge calls developers to create web-based applications to help patients schedule follow-up appointments and post-discharge testing before leaving the hospital to ensure safe and effective transitions after discharge.
The challenge is part of ONC's Investing in Innovation (i2) program, an effort to facilitate health IT innovations.
