The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology has launched the Healthy New Year Video Challenge, a consumer video contest to improve health, according to a news release from the Department of Health and Human Services.
The challenge calls for patients to share a New Year's resolution for improving their health or the health of a loved one and how they will use technology to achieve their resolution. ONC gave the following example: "I will set up an online personal health record for myself (or another family member) so I can have all of my health information conveniently stored in one place."
Winners will receive a portion of $5,000 and their videos will be featured on the ONC's website.
The Healthy New Year Video Challenge is the first in a series of consumer video contests designed to engage consumers in integrating technology into their healthcare.
