Coastal Connect Health Information has connected 10 unaffiliated physician practices to its health information exchange, according to a news release.
The physician practices are now electronically transmitting patient referrals. The next phase will include delivery of clinical results and reports to these practices from five local hospitals.
CCHIE plans to do a full rollout in October with a year-one goal of connecting 144 Community Care of North Carolina physician practices. The rollout is funded in part by a $1.46 million grant awarded by The Duke Endowment.
