Jackson Health Data Breach Affects More Than 1,400 Patients

Miami-based Jackson Health System has notified 1,407 patients of a personal health information data breach, according to a report by The Miami Herald.

According to the health system, boxes containing the medical records of the patients have been missing since January. The records contained the patients' personal health information, including medical diagnoses and surgical procedures. The records did not include Social Security numbers, credit card numbers or financial statements.

The health system has offered the affected patients free credit protection services, according to the report.
