Central Oregon Healthcare Providers Sync EHRs With State HIT Organization

The Central Oregon Independent Practice Association has merged its electronic health record subsidiary, Central Oregon Electronic Medical Records, with OCHIN, a national HIT organization headquartered in Portland, according to a news release.

OCHIN won a federal grant to start Oregon's Health Information Technology Extension Center, a division of OCHIN that provides education, outreach and assistance to facilitate successful implementation and meaningful use of certified EHRs.

Steve Mann, president of COIPA, said the combination of COEMR and OCHIN gives Central Oregon healthcare providers increased access to affordable digital technology.
