Nine Pennsylvania hospitals and health systems are forming western Pennsylvania's first health information exchange, according to a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center news release.
The group, which will be called ClinicalConnect, includes Altoona Regional Health System in Altoona, Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, Butler Health System in Butler, Greensburg-based Excela Health, Beaver-based Heritage Valley Health System, Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pittsburgh, St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, The Washington Hospital in Washington and UPMC.
The HIE will be implemented over the next two years, starting with a pilot at Heritage Valley Health System. The group plans to add other area hospitals and systems in the future.
