Walmart continues leasing healthcare space

Walmart has leased another one of its former healthcare centers.

Access Medical Clinic, which has 61 primary and urgent care locations across eight states, plans to take over the ex-Walmart Health facility in Palestine, Texas, in late 2024. Walmart said in April that it was shuttering all 51 of its clinics along with its telehealth business.

"Our goal is to provide accessible and affordable healthcare to those who need it most, and this new clinic is a significant step towards achieving that mission," said Access Medical CEO Brad Bibb, MD, in an Aug. 9 statement.

Walmart has also leased its former healthcare spaces to St. Louis-based Mercy for primary care and Humana for senior-focused medical centers.
