DAX Copilot sales take off for Microsoft

Microsoft said sales of its DAX Copilot have taken off as health systems have embraced artificial intelligence for clinical documentation.

"More than 400 healthcare organizations … have purchased DAX Copilot to date, up over 40% quarter over quarter," Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in a July 30 earnings call. "And the number of AI-generated clinical reports more than tripled."

He cited the technology's adoption by Indianapolis-based Community Health Network, Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health, Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine, and Columbus-based Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He said the platform is also "transforming" enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management business applications.

The DAX Copilot from Microsoft subsidiary Nuance ambiently transcribes clinical visits before creating a draft note for the EHR. While these tools have grown in use of late, Microsoft's platform is one of the most popular.
