Reproductive telehealth company Wisp has rolled out telemedicine medical abortions in California, New York, Illinois and Colorado.
Wisp will offer oral medication to terminate a pregnancy and phone services for virtual care.
Wisp says their medical abortion care costs 30 percent less than the national average for a medical abortion.
Wisp will also be donating 1 percent of its birth control and emergency contraceptive sales to Sex Ed for Social Change and New York Birth Control Access Project through the end of August, according to the Aug. 9 news release.
"At Wisp, our mission has always been to offer fast, effective and affordable services to meet patients where and when they need it most," said CEO of Wisp Ahmad Bani. "We believe abortion is a critical aspect of healthcare, and we are committed to providing this as an option for our patients, in the states where it is legal, so that they can take ownership of this aspect of their health with privacy and respect."
