Healthcare investment firm Patient Square Capital aims to raise more than $6 billion for its second fund focused on healthcare services, according to PitchBook.

1. Patient Square Capital is a middle-market investor that raised $3.9 billion for its first fund last year. The funding round was led by Jim Momtazee, managing partner of Patient Square. He spent two decades at private equity firm KKR before joining Patient Square.
2. The new fund is focused on deals for drug development, medical adhesives, healthcare providers and tech-enabled healthcare services, according to the report. Patient Square expects to close the fundraising round before the year's end.
3. Patient Square, Elliott Investment Management and Veritas Capital acquired Syneos Health, a biopharmaceutical company, for $7.1 billion last year.
4. Patient Square's portfolio companies include Access TeleCare, Apollo Therapeutics, Hanger, Kriya, resolve biosciences and Elevage Medical Technologies.
