Michigan partners with digital health company to fight loneliness in older adults

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is partnering with digital health company GetSetUp to offer free classes and online health modules to older adults, chron.com reported Dec. 28. 

The classes covering health and fitness topics are designed to fight loneliness among older adults Michigan during the winter months. GetSetUp's digital platform has been used by 4.6 million senior citizens across the globe.

"MDHHS strives to offer a variety of programs for aging adults that encourage them to live independently," Farah Hanley, MDHHS chief deputy director for health, said. "GetSetUp provides the opportunities that older Michiganders want and need to live healthy and fulfilling lives."
