Los Angeles-based Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare are implementing Wolters Kluwer Health's Ovid Synthesis Clinical Evidence Manager to streamline clinical research workflows.
The tool uses artificial intelligence to accelerate literature reviews and evidence appraisal. Hollywood Presbyterian will use the tool in its shared governance program, and Sentara will use it in its nurse residency program, according to a March 9 Wolters Kluwer press release.
"We are investing in Ovid across our content and technology-based workflows to support the education department as well as assisting in the rollout of Shared Governance throughout the medical center," Lourdes Casao, PhD, RN, director of the education department for CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical, said in the release. "The shared governance rollout is a collaboration between our caregivers and leadership to improve patient care, streamline the work environment, and ensure the most accurate, up-to-date information is available to the care teams — Ovid Synthesis is a key element in this initiative."
