UPMC to Cut 100 Transcriber Jobs

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is outsourcing its transcription services, resulting in about 100 layoffs at the end of June, according to a TribLive report.

However, all of the affected workers were offered positions at Nuance Communications, a software company based in Burlington, Mass., that offers transcription services, according to the report. UPMC and Nuance have worked together since 2011.
