Ukiah Valley Medical Center Cuts Jobs, Employee Hours

Ukiah (Calif.) Valley Medical Center has eliminated six positions and made other workforce reductions, according to a report by the Ukiah Daily Journal.

In addition to the six cut positions, the hospital is leaving five positions vacant, and five positions will have a reduction in hours, among other workforce changes, according to the report.

UVMC is undergoing changes in its workforce due to lower reimbursement from the state and federal governments. For example, UVMC received a 0.07 percent reimbursement cut from CMS as a penalty for excessive readmissions, according to the report.
