UVA Health expands telehealth program

Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health is partnering with six rural care providers in Virginia to provide at-home monitoring tools, according to Aug. 29 reporting in the Augusta Free Press.

The program is funded through grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Federal Communications Commission. UVA Health will provide the care centers with patient monitoring kits that include tablets and medical equipment such as blood pressure cuffs.

The six partners:

  1. Bath Community Hospital — Hot Springs, Va.
  2. Bland County Medical Clinic — Bastian, Va.
  3. Southwest Virginia Community Health Systems — Tazewell, Va.
  4. Tri-Area Community Health — Laurel Fork, Va.
  5. Central Virginia Health Services — Farmville, Va.
  6. Monacan Indian Nation — Madison Heights, Va.
