Beaufort (S.C.) Memorial Hospital is opening a new telehealth center through a partnership with pharmacy chain Publix.
The center includes a private room with medical diagnostic equipment such as blood pressure cuffs and high-definition cameras, in-which patients can talk to a clinician about nonemergency medical procedures, according to a Jan. 17 Publix news release.
The fee to use the center is $67 per visit.
"Publix Pharmacy looks forward to extending new, convenient services to even more communities with the help of Beaufort Memorial Hospital," Vice President of Publix Pharmacy Dain Rusk said. "Convenience in the world of health care is something that patients value and expect. Offering telehealth services provide[s] the comfort of a clinic, with the convenience of being in your local Publix."
