SCL Health announced Nov. 20 a partnership with Bright.md, through which the Broomfield, Colo.-based health system will offer low-cost, on-demand telehealth services beginning in early 2020.
SCL Health patients will be able to access Bright.md's SmartExam virtual care platform via smartphone, tablet or computer. After completing an initial interview about their symptoms, patients will be matched with an SCL Health provider, who can diagnose, treat and prescribe a wide variety of minor illnesses and injuries without requiring an in-person or even video appointment.
"With SmartExam, we can meet our patients where they are with a high-quality and affordable virtual care experience," Terri Casterton, system director of innovation and virtual health at SCL Health, said in the announcement. "We are excited to put cost-effective tools in the hands of our providers that allow them to be highly efficient in diagnosing and treating patients."
