Ro, a direct-to-consumer telehealth app for pharmacy services, said May 19 it had acquired reproductive health company Modern Fertility.
The deal is worth more than $225 million, sources told The New York Times.
Founded in 2017, Modern Fertility began by offering a $159 finger prick test that estimates how many eggs might be left in a person's ovaries. The company now offers fertility tests, ovulation trackers, pregnancy tests and prenatal vitamins.
Modern Ferititly's services will be integrated into Ro's primary care platform, and Modern Fertility co-founders Afton Vechery and Carly Leahy will lead Ro’s women’s health offering.
"What excited us most about Modern Fertility is their relentless focus on the customer, their unique, proactive approach to fertility and women’s health, and the fact that Afton and Carly live and breathe Modern Fertility with every ounce of their being," Ro CEO Zachariah Reitano said in a news release.
