In a recent press release, Outcome Health announced a new partnership with American Epilepsy Society.
According to the release epilepsy is the second leading cause of death from a neurological condition and affects more people in the U.S. than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parksinson's disease combined.
Outcome Health’s platform includes technologies such as the Exam Room Tablet, which can onboard patients to lifestyle management programs as well as deliver interactive resources and health assessments to patients pre-consultation. Technologies also include the Digital Anatomy Board, which offers access to 3D anatomical renderings for use during the consultation, including images of the nervous system that can be used by physicians to mark, annotate and better explain condition states and treatments.
According to Eli M. Mizrahi, MD, president of the American Epilepsy Society, “Because epilepsy presents in many different ways, these kinds of educational tools are an important way to help people recognize symptoms, obtain early diagnosis, and better understand treatments and the best ways they can help manage their disease."
