Telehealth provider GlobalMed appointed Shannon Murphy, a former Microsoft executive, as chief technology officer.
Three notes:
1. Ms. Murphy most recently served as Microsoft's director of federal health solutions.
2. With more than 20 years of experience at Microsoft, Ms. Murphy held various technology and clinical informatics leadership roles, including CTO for Microsoft's federal health and benefits team.
3. In February, GlobalMed's virtual care platform became available on Microsoft's cloud platform Azure.
"We're thrilled to welcome [Ms. Murphy] aboard as our new CTO," GlobalMed Founder and CEO Joel Barthelemy, said in a news release. "…She understands all sides of the equation. Azure, the larger Microsoft world, as well as payers, government entities, vendors, and the communities and providers who rely on Microsoft's technology to help deliver needed care and improve patients' lives."
