Bay Pines (Fla.) VA Healthcare is rolling out a telehealth system for physicians and nurses in its intensive care unit, WTSP reported Dec. 1.
The TeleCritical Care system will allow ICU clinicians at Bay Pines to connect virtually with other clinicians 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The system will allow the hospital to expand its medical team remotely and consult with other specialists on complicated cases. Care through the system can be accessed by clicking a button.
Bay Pines is the first hospital in Saint Petersburg, Fla.-based VA Sunshine Healthcare network to implement the telehealth system.
