The Drug Enforcement Administration has extended the flexibilities that allow physicians to prescribe controlled substances via telemedicine without an in-person evaluation until November.
Providers can prescribe controlled substances such as Adderall online through Nov. 11, according to a copy of the rule posted May 9. The rule also allows providers to prescribe controlled substances for up to an additional year if they have an established relationship with a patient on or before Nov. 11.
This comes shortly after the DEA said it would temporarily extend the flexibilities allotted by the public health emergency on May 3.
