Amwell appointed Robert Shepardson to serve as its new CFO and head of mergers and acquisitions, effective Oct. 31.
Five things to know:
1. Mr. Shepardson will work alongside Amwell's current CFO, Keith Anderson, through the end of 2021, the telehealth company said in a Sept. 21 news release.
2. Mr. Shepardson brings more than 30 years of investment banking and capital markets experience to the role, in which he will oversee Amwell's finance, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions efforts.
3. He most recently served as Morgan Stanley's global capital markets managing director and held several leadership positions in global markets and media and communications investment banking at the company.
4. As managing director of Morgan Stanley's global capital markets, Mr. Shephardson was responsible for all equity issuance in the healthcare vertical and led financings for multiple companies including Amwell, One Medical and Oak Street Health.
5. Mr. Anderson will remain CFO of Amwell through Oct. 16 and then transition to a full-time advisory role through 2021.
