FDA clears Stryker's spinal screw

Stryker on Wednesday earned Food and Drug Administration clearance for its Serrato Pedicle Screw.

Here are three things to know.

1. The screw is intended for use in non-cervical procedures with the Xia 3 Spinal System.
   
   

2. The Serrato Pedicle Screw features serrated cutting flutes and a dual-thread pattern to promote rapid insertion.
   
   
3. The screw is available in various diameters and materials, including titanium, titanium alloy and vitallium.
