Escalon Medical announced that it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its new tablet-based ultrasound imaging system — the Sonomed Escalon VuPad.
Key features of the system include wireless interconnectivity to EMRs, image management systems and a portable ergonomic design as well as high-resolution image capture. The system has a number of ophthalmic applications.
The Company anticipates CE Mark approval and clearance by other international regulatory bodies in the coming months.
