Texas Health Resources restructures operations

Arlington-based Texas Health Resources is replacing its current zone-based operations model with a channel strategy.

The channel strategy will focus on the ways in which the organization delivers its products and services rather than its physical locations, according to a D Healthcare report. The strategy will align hospitals, outpatient centers, mobile provider units and digital platforms as the locations where services are rendered as opposed to focusing on its hospitals as the product itself.

The move aims to "better support the company's evolution to a consumer-centric organization," according to a statement from the organization. The goal is to allow for more nimble decision-making.

Per the new channel strategy, Jeffrey Canose, MD, senior executive vice president and COO, and Winjie Tang Miao, senior executive vice president and chief experience officer, will work with Barclay E. Berdan, CEO of Texas Health Resources.

Leaders focused on the organization's hospital channel, the Texas Health Physicians Group, ambulatory and post-acute care services, as well as specialty service lines, will report to Dr. Canose.

Ms. Miao will lead efforts to support the organizational changes, such as building a connected health platform and analyzing consumer insights.

"All channel leaders will be responsible and accountable for achieving and sustaining positive differentiation of consumer-focused clinical care in their respective segments of the core business," said Dr. Canose. "They will do this based on consumer insights and research, consumer-centric design principles, and other relevant specifications for clinical, operational and financial performance established at the system level."

The restructuring comes a few months after Texas Health Resources announced it would be laying off 720 employees, about 3 percent of its workforce.
