New CEO of Loretto Hospital in Chicago Looks to Expand Physician Relationships

Sonia Mehta, MD, who recently became CEO of Loretto Hospital in Chicago, aims to expand outpatient services and relationships with both employed and independent physicians, according to a Crain's Chicago Business report.

Four of Dr. Mehta's priorities include adding outpatient facilities, employing more primary care physicians, aligning with more physicians who will not be employed by the hospital and improving quality, according to the report.

While Dr. Mehta does not have short-term plans to merge with another hospital, Loretto Board Chairman Edward Hogan said the hospital has several pending proposals with other hospitals to form an accountable care organization, according to the report.
