The Children's Medical Center of Dayton (Ohio) announced its official name is now Dayton Children's Hospital.
The hospital has been doing business as Dayton Children's since 2006, but has kept The Children's Medical Center of Dayton as its official name until now. The name change is part of the hospital's roadmap to remain an independent and locally governed children's hospital, according to the news release.
Deborah A. Feldman, Dayton Children's president and CEO, said in the release, "Our research indicates a stronger association between higher levels of care and the word 'hospital' than with 'medical center.'
