University Medical Center in Lafayette, La., will change its name to University Hospital and Clinics June 24 when Lafayette (La.) General Health takes over management of the hospital from Baton Rouge-based Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division, according to an Advertiser report.
The LSU board of supervisors approved LSU Health Care Services Division's plan to lease University Medical Center to Lafayette General Health in April. The financially struggling LSU health system was also approved to lease another of its hospitals and recently revealed plans to sell four other hospitals to private operators.
When University Medical Center changes its name June 24, it will also get a new CEO — recently appointed Jared Stark.
