25 hospitals ranked among Forbes' best employers for women

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, San Diego-based Sharp Healthcare and Boston Children's Hospital were among the top employers for women in Forbes' first "Best Employers for Women" list.

For its list, the magazine partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 40,000 employees, including 25,000 women, at companies across the U.S.   

Highlighted below are the 25 hospitals and health systems that made the list and their rank:

1. Penn Medicine (Philadelphia) —  No. 2

2. BayCare Health System (Clearwater, Fla.) —  No. 4

3. Oregon Health & Sciences University (Portland) — No. 5

4. Boston Children's Hospital — No. 7

5. Providence Health & Services (Renton, Wash.) — No. 8

6. Texas Children's Hospital (Houston) — No. 11

7. Cincinnati Children's Hospital — No. 18

8. Parkview Health (Fort Wayne, Ind.) — No. 20

9. Sharp Healthcare (San Diego) — No. 25

10. The Christ Hospital Health Network (Cincinnati) — No. 29

11. Eskenazi Health (Indianapolis) — No. 32

12. Summit Health (Chambersburg, Pa.) — No. 33

13. Covenant Health (Knoxville, Tenn.) — No. 44

14. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital — No. 48

15. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.) — No. 53

16. Atrium Health (Charlotte, N.C.) — No. 55

17. Norton Healthcare (Louisville, Ky.) — No. 67
