The hospital and health systems receiving the credit downgrades include:
• Yakima (Wash.) Valley Memorial Hospital — from BBB- to BB+ (S&P)
• Tulare (Calif.) Local HealthCare District — from BBB- to BB+ (Fitch)
• Citrus Memorial Health System (Inverness, Fla.) — from Ba2 to Ba3 (Moody's)
• Lifespan (Providence, R.I.) — from A3 to Baa1 (Moody's)
• Group Health Cooperative (Seattle) — from A- to BBB (Fitch)
• Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (Palo Alto, Calif.) — from Aa2 to Aa3 (Moody's)
• Elmhurst (Ill.) Memorial Healthcare — from Baa1 to Baa2 (Fitch)
In the same month-long span, eight hospitals and health systems received credit upgrades. They include:
• Sky Lakes Medical Center (Klamath Falls, Ore.) — from BBB- to BBB (Fitch)
• Seattle Cancer Center Alliance — from A3 to A2 (Moody's)
• St. Joseph/Candler Health System (Savannah, Ga.) — from Baa1 to A3 (Moody's)
• Memorial Hermann Healthcare System (Houston) — from A2 to A1 (Moody's)
• Schneck Medical Center (Seymour, Ind.) — from A- to A (S&P)
• Appalachian Regional Healthcare (Middlesboro, Ky.) — from BB- to BB (Fitch)
• Heartland Regional Medical Center (St. Joseph, Mo.) — from A2 to A1 (Moody's)
• Mercy Memorial Hospital System (Monroe, Mich.) — from BBB- to BBB (S&P)
Eight hospitals and health systems also had positive rating affirmation changes, while eight hospitals and health systems had negative rating affirmation changes.
