Three residents at the Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker in Albany, N.Y., have died from Legionnaires' disease, according to Sept. 6 report from The New York Times.
Albany County Department of Health officials told the Times they first learned of a Legionnaires' disease "cluster" at the facility Aug. 30.
According to the report, 25 residents have been hospitalized in connection with the outbreak with 10 testing positive for the disease, including the three people who died.
Two of the residents who died had been hospitalized for other reasons and whether their deaths were caused by Legionnaries' is unclear, according to the Times.
The county health department said it is investigating the outbreak alongside the New York State Department of Health, according to the Albany department's website.
