JPMorgan Chase increased its holdings in Kindred Healthcare, a Louisville, Ky.-based acute care provider, to 6.4 percent, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The increase is about a 55 percent jump from what JPMorgan Chase previously held as of September 2017. JPMorgan Chase now owns roughly 5.58 million Kindred shares, up from 3.57 million reported in September.
The change comes after Humana and two private equity firms signed a definitive agreement Dec. 19 to acquire Kindred for $4.1 billion in cash including assumption of debt.
