UF Health specialty pharmacy broadens services, medications offered

University of Florida Health's specialty pharmacy recently expanded its list of medications and accepted insurance plans.

The Gainesville-based system said the expansion was thanks to accreditation from URAC (the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission) and the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, according to a May 31 news release. The new accreditations "open the door to more complex and hard-to-find medications," UF Health said.

Becker's asked for a list of the new medications and insurance plans offered, and a spokesperson said these offerings are fluid and can change daily.

"We continue to pursue expanded access based on the needs of our patients," Suzy Wise, PharmD, pharmacy director of UF Health Shands, said in a statement. "We have recently been included in several specialty payer networks and continue to pursue access to additional networks based on our patient population."
