PharmStars, the first pharma-focused accelerator for digital health startups, launched June 1.
Four things to know about the new accelerator:
- The program seeks to educate and mentor startups by connecting them with pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Using a 10-week curriculum, PharmStars helps digital health startups better understand what makes large pharmaceutical companies adopt new technologies.
- PharmStars was founded by Naomi Fried, PhD, who has previously held innovation executive roles at Boston Children's Hospital and Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente.
- The program will be funded by participating pharmaceutical companies.
- The inaugural group of digital health startups will begin the program Sept. 1. The 2021 program will be held virtually and open to startups from all over the world.
