On March 3, an ambulance en route to a University of Kentucky hospital struck a guardrail and flipped over. The patient being transported died, and two EMTs were injured, police told local news outlets.
The ambulance was transporting a patient from Pikeville (Ky.) to the Lexington, Ky.-based UK HealthCare facility when it hit a guardrail around 3 p.m., according to Clark County officials.
The patient died at the scene, and an EMT on board is in critical condition. The driver was taken to Clark Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
