Three hospitals received Magnet designation for the first time in August, while another five were redesignated, according to the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
AANC's Magnet Recognition Program, first developed in 1990, recognizes hospitals for their excellence in nursing services.
Three hospitals that received Magnet designation in August:
- Allegheny Health Network-Saint Vincent Hospital (Erie, Pa.)
- Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital
- Intermountain Healthcare Good Samaritan Medical Center (Lafayette, Colo.)
Five hospitals that were redesignated:
- HonorHealth Scottsdale (Ariz.) Thompson Peak Medical Center
- Mayo Clinic Arizona (Phoenix)
- Oregon Health & Science University Healthcare (Portland)
- Sharp Memorial Hospital (San Diego, Calif.)
- UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh
