CMS has issued proposed rules for Medicare Advantage (Medicare Part C) and Medicare Part D plans projected to save $1.3 billion over the next five years.
According to CMS, the purpose of the proposed rule is to improve beneficiary protections, payment accuracy and the implementation of statute requirements; get rid of poorly performing plans; create program efficiencies and clarify requirements for the two programs.
CMS will accept comments on the rules for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D through March 7, 2014. To read the rule and learn how to comment, visit the website of the Office of the Federal Register.
