Tenet Healthcare to Invest $67M in Sierra Providence East Medical Center Expansion

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. announced (pdf) plans for a $67 million expansion of Sierra Providence East Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, only four years after the hospital's opening.

The project will encompass more than 145,000 square feet and will include a new tower and an expansion of the existing patient tower and emergency department. The new tower will add 30 surgical beds, 30 medical beds and a 12-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit. The ED will expand from 21 beds to 31 beds.

Construction is scheduled to begin in December and is expected to be completed by the end of 2014.
