Philadelphia-based Einstein Healthcare Network plans to open its new $350 million Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton, Pa., Sept. 29, according to a report by The Reporter.
The 363,000-square-foot, 146-bed facility is a replacement of Montgomery Hospital Medical Center in Norristown, Pa., which will close after Sept. 29. A Philadelphia development company, Mission First Housing Development Corp., plans to convert the building into 108 apartments for seniors.
The new hospital houses an emergency department with 43 beds, including a seven-bed area for minor injuries, an eight-bed section for observing patients and 28 beds for seriously ill patients. The surgical floor has six operating rooms in addition to interventional labs and treatment rooms.
