St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo, Calif., part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health, will close its obstetrics unit around Nov. 1, according to a Ventura County Star report.
The unit had been in operation for 38 years, but the community's changing demographics drove down patient volume, according to the report.
The hospital's obstetric services will be added to the obstetrics program at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, Calif., also part of Dignity Health, according to the report.
